Highly recommend for pre purchase inspections. Dont buy a car without Charles! I do all my work on my classic cars and consider myself pretty knowledgeable for a DIYer, but I completely missed the issues Charles found with the car i was considering. He saved me from buying a shiny, freshly painted car that was hiding some pricey suspension issues.
SUPER easy to schedule on his website. Shows up on time and did the inspections with the buyer even when i was not able to be there at the same time. Great communication. Super thorough reports and also made a point of calling me after each car inspection to talk it through and answer any questions. Customer service like this doesn't exist anymore. Today I paid the following $925 the Crankshaft sensor, Water pump belt and Alternator Belt. The parts were cheap the labor is the sum of my payment plus the markup on each part purchased from the mechanic and not the store which equals 50%. If you need a fair price, I would hire someone other than Charles but if you need your car maintenance in a pinch then...thanks!

I used Charles to replace a dead battery on a weekend. The service was convenient but expensive.
Fast forward 3 months, the car won’t start and the battery is the culprit. My regular mechanic tested the battery and determined it has a bad cell.
Taking advantage of the battery’s warranty through Charles was going to be extremely inconvenient and expensive. I’d have to take out the battery, drive it to Charles and then pay for him to drive back out to replace it. I understand his time is money, but not a great customer experience when I already overpaid for the initial service.
Just something to consider when you’re looking for a longer term relationship with a mechanic.

If you’re looking at a used car, you NEED Charles to come inspect it before you buy. We were looking at a nice vehicle with a clean Carfax report. Charles was incredibly helpful in his pre-purchase inspection of a vehicle. Since I don't live nearby, he met the seller without me there. After the inspection, he called me and explained in detail both what was wrong with the vehicle and what each of those things would mean for me as a potential owner, as well as sending a written report of the things he found and estimated costs to fix. The owner Charles was fantastic. I had been working on my Ford Ranger and put in a new engine, but was having some idling issues and engine was running very rough. I had exhausted every option I could to fix it trying to do it myself, even going as far to replace the PCM. Had I called Charles earlier, I would have actually saved a significant amount of money. I called Charles after I gave up and couldn't figure it out. Charles quickly dispelled my incorrect ideas and proceeded with an expert approach. He found a few very specific issues within the hour by using problem solving skills that only come through years of experience. My truck is now running smooth as butter. He was very knowledgeable, professional, kind, and efficient. He also provided a fair price and didn't take advantage of the fact that my diagnoses could have been much more expensive. Instead he followed his instincts as a professional mechanic, and found the problem, which ended up being more cost effective in the long run. It was one of the easiest and best services i have ever had on my car. I got the appointment an hour before he showed up, he took care of the car in under an hour, and recommended some additional fixes i should do, like a friend more than a mechanic trying to make an extra sale. If i could use him and the service for all my car issues I 100% would.

Charles did a pre-buy inspection for me and did an amazing job. He was able to find some issues that the seller was trying to hide and was able to concentrate on the job at hand even with the seller breathing down his neck and pressuring him to hurry up. I called Mobile Auto Works to install KC lights for my Jeep. It twas more work then expected however he got the job done and also came by the next day to check out the job and made sure to go over it one more time.
I also had a leak on a pump going to my air-filter and was causing a engine check light which he also fixed.
Didn't rush my job and was able to make sure the job was done right.
I chose My Mechanic based on the Yelp reviews. Glad I did.
Very professional and friendly. He gave me an honest assessment of what he felt needed to be done.
And he also didn't charge me for the second time coming out for the service to traveling to my job.
Great guy and will be using him for all my work on my jeep.

Best mobile mechanic in San Jose, CA. I called up Mobile Auto Works and within minutes Charles came and replaced my battery. He also checked the charging system (alternator), and the starter. The problem that was happening with my Ford was not starting up. All of this, mobile auto works check even before they performed the battery replacement. Charles the Mobile Mechanic also had my battery in stock, which was really convenient.

This quality of service right at your doorstep is priceless! My only car broke down on a Sunday and I needed it for work the next day but ALL the auto repair shops were closed except this guy. I had it towed back to my house and he was there waiting for me and we had my baby up and running in 1 1/2 hrs while I sat in the comfort of my own home, so clutch! On top of that he does scheduled appointments so you don't have at a shop wondering if they are going to get to your car that day. Honest pricing, perfect service, and willingness to genuinely help you out not just to get your business.
